The Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA) is dedicated to development and growth of co-operatives that build prosperity among the poor in less developed countries. Currently it has programs in more than twenty countries with offices in Ottawa, Sri Lanka, Uganda and

Indonesia. Programming is focussed on the financial sector, in credit unions, microfinance,micro-insurance and the agriculture sector in production, value chain and integrated agricultureand financial co-operative development. (www.coopscanada.coop/id)

CCA is seeking to fill the new position of Director of International Business Development,based in Ottawa, to drive the identification and development of new businessopportunities. The Director will be a member of the International Development Management team, and will identify and lead initiatives and have a major role in determining the businessdevelopment strategy.

The following qualifications and experience are required:

Ñ Proven leadership skills with a team of professionals.

Ñ Minimum of 10 years of progressive related international development.

Ñ Demonstrated expertise in developing productive relationships with potential donors,

private foundations companies and/or joint venture partners.

Ñ Contracting experience with CIDA and International Financial Institutions.

Ñ Knowledge of, and experience in co-operative development internationally and/or nationally.

Ñ Bilingual Spanish-English a definite asset.

Ñ Superior communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.

Ñ Ability to travel extensively.

Applicants seeking salary in the range of $70,000 - $74,000 per annum will be more interested in this position. A competitive benefit package is available.
